AP Computer Science Principles

PREREQUISITES

ABOUT THE COURSE

AP Computer Science Principles gives students the opportunity to use technology to address real world problems and provide relevant solutions. Students work independently and collaboratively to develop computational thinking and problem-solving skills. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the course will introduce students to the creative aspects of programming, abstractions, algorithms, large data sets, the Internet, cyber security concerns, and computing impacts. The course aims to develop computational thinking, to generate excitement about the field of computer science, and to introduce tools that foster creativity. With a unique focus on creative problem solving and real-world applications, AP Computer Science Principles prepares students for both college and career.
