Nature Center Calendar
Hello Friends of the Woodcreek Nature Center,
After over 20 years of creating and teaching the Woodcreek Nature Center, Kendra Grinsell retired in 2022. Her docents taught over 60,000 elementary students about the wetlands and organisms that live there. Kendra helped instill a love for nature and a need to protect it. She is a modern day, Rachel Carson.
The Nature Center program and working with all the elementary schools was the highlight of Kendra Grinsell's career. After completing my first full year teaching nature center in the 2022-2023 school year, I can see why she felt that way. It is amazing! I am so proud of the maturity, patience, and enthusiasm that my docents exude.
The 2024-2025 school marks the 22nd year of operation for the Woodcreek Nature Center that is run by high school students/docents!
I hope you keep bringing your kids to the WNC to learn outdoors. You can email me to set up your field trips this fall. Bookings will begin at the beginning of September of each year.

2021 Special Zoom Programs Kendra left the link for the video lessons the students did during Covid in case you have a use for them this year.
We started a YouTube Channel for you. We have lots of short videos about the plants and animals at the Woodcreek Nature Center. Tell your students to check them out.
