Four Year College Information

California State University (CSU)

Cal State Apply - This site is where you will apply to CSU campuses. The application window is from October 1st to December 2nd. Students must meet eligibility requirements according to the CSU Index.

University of California (UC)

University of California - This site is where you will apply to UC campuses. You can submit your application(s) from October 1st to December 2nd. Be sure to meet all deadlines for transcript requests, placement tests, etc. Check your student portals often.

Private Colleges & Universities

Private colleges and universities can require an application, essays, test score reports, teacher recommendations, etc. Since requirements vary, please visit the specific college websites for more detailed information.

Common Application - The Common App is used to make applying to various schools with different deadlines, requirements, etc much easier. This avoids you having to complete multiple individual applications.

Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) - This website has information on the various private colleges/universities in California.

Out of State Schools & the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Discount

Out of state colleges and universities can require an application, essays, test score reports, teacher recommendations, etc. Since requirements vary, please visit the specific college websites for more detailed information.

Western Undergraduate Exchange Program - WUE is a tuition discount program that allows students who are residents of California to enroll at participating colleges outside of California at a reduced tuition rate. Often times, out of state fees are reduced by 50% at participating schools.

Letter of Recommendation Brag Sheet
Fill out the form above when requesting a letter of recommendation from counselors or teachers. Download the PDF, fill it out (by typing into it), save it under a new file name, and then email it to whoever you need a letter of recommendation from. Remember to follow up with a thank you card or email.
